Reflections, observations, random thoughts, mental notes!
Received a very lovely comment against this blog today:

“My skin history is very similar, but I got to a point when I was so fed up that I just threw the multitude of miracle creams, harsh scrubs and paint-stripper exfoliators away and started again with Dr H. Sure, I've still got the odd spot but I feel like I've got human skin again...not the lizard skin I had developed, oily/spotty but dry/flaky at the same time”

It made me reflect about how I used to apologize for my skin, as if having a spot were a major crime against society. Using Dr.Hauschka products is certainly no guarantee against ever getting a spot again, but it can make such an incredible difference to the overall feel and condition of your skin.  I just want to share that with as many people as possible.

My Skin
How comfortable does my skin feel after cleansing?
You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view . . . until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.  –To Kill a Mockingbird

My skin might not look perfect to the outside world, but it feels pretty amazing to me. I have checked the label on the Rhythmic Night Conditioner for added magic, not stated, but I can feel it in there!

Activities & Mood:
A medal for Tweddle in the gymnastics – hurrah!

I have noticed our knowledge of the national anthem is a little hazy in the middle; made up for by a strong start and rousing finish.  This reminded me of (yet another) Eddie Izzard sketch  “A Partridge in a Pear Tree”

“The only bit we like of it is ,(singing)"Five gold rings!" People go berserk at that point! People come running in from other rooms, (singing) "Five gold rings!" The rest of it, we don't know; above that, it's just,(singing, uncertain) "Twelve…monkeys mating, eleven… donkeys dancing, ten pigmies farming, nine… socks… a swimming…(certain) five gold rings!" This is a human thing. We only like to learn a little bit of a song. “  (video clip)

A lone nasturtium has appeared from the seeds planted on Day 1.  Just the sweet-peas yet to emerge.  The Wheatgrass is not at all happy, I might have to commission my mother to help out (she has a way with plants!).

One of my favourite books, is a self-help book called “It's Called a Breakup Because It's Broken: The Smart Girl's Break-Up Buddy”  ( I am not sure if self-help books should be up there on my top ten reads. Hopefully very few people reading this will ever has reason to reach for it.  But if you do find yourself, or a friend, in a hideous break-up situation, I can’t recommend this book strongly enough). I always have “takeaway” thoughts from whatever I read (admittedly on occasions, the thought is “never buy anything by that author again!”); my takeaway thought from this book is:

“Starting from today, you are not the kind of woman who settles for broken or hangs on to damaged goods, be it a radio, a pair of shoes, or a relationship.  Your life is not a yard sale.  It’s time to get rid of all the broken stuff that you’ve been lugging around for days, months, and maybe even years, and make the bold decision to start looking for stuff that works.  The bright, clean, simple, easy, runs-so-smoothly-I-don’t-even-have-to-think-about-it kind of works”

There are two important exceptions to this rule. Firstly rescue animals, secondly bargain basement plants.  Both can be damaged and broken seemingly beyond repair, but love can mend them (see picture of the day)

Picture for the day:
I did a quick recce of the bargain section at the local garden centre-  £5 for all the plants in the photo (carefully removed from their pots, trimmed, replanted and a few words of encouragement).  The cat had to get in the background, with her Olympic stretching routine…yes, yes, we love you very much..

Quote for the day:
“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
- Buddha
